The team beat Entropiq 2-0 in the grand finale in the first 2022 event for CS:GO.
Gambit Esports has won the first CS:GO event in 2022 – the Funspark ULTI 2021 (yes, it is a 2022 event even though there's 2021 in the name - ed). The team beat Entropiq in a straight-set win 2-0, handily beating the team from the CIS region.
Funspark ULTI, run by Funspark and Relog Media, is a carry-over event from 2021. Eight teams battled it out in the online A-Tier tournament over the past week.
The grand finale was a rematch for these two teams – Gambit sent Entropiq into the lower brackets at the upper bracket semi-finals. Gambit’s run through the tournament was consistent – even though they did drop maps here and there. The same can be said for Entropiq – it was a consistent run through the lower brackets with a few maps dropped here and there.
The two teams will be carrying the momentum they have gained in the tournament to the next big event in the calendar – the IEM Katowice, which is set to start next month.
The first MVP medal was given to sh1ro of Gambit, who recorded a 1.43 over 10 maps played in the tournament.
