Luminosity Gaming take the Champions title at DreamHack ZOWIE Open: Austin 2016, after securing a 2:0 victory against their Brazilian brethren, Tempo Storm.
DreamHack Austin 2016 has concluded, as the Grand Finals were played out yesterday. Luminosity Gaming managed to secure a victory over their countrymen, Tempo Storm. The two teams played on de_Mirage and de_Cobblestone, both of which went to Luminosity Gaming.
De_Mirage saw Luminosity gain an early advantage on the T side of the map. FalleN and co. were able to demonstrate their capabilities and just why they are worthy of the title of favourites. The first half ended at 9:6 in their favour. After this we saw yet another dominant performance, this time on the CT side of the map. Tempo Storm were unable to rival their opponents experience and game sense as the match culminated at 16:8 in favour of LG.
De_Cobblestone painted a similar picture, whereby LG started on the CT side, fending off advances from their opponents. It all played out decently for the team, as they approached the half time with a 9:6 score. Finalising the tournament was a 7:2 round score, where Tempo Storm simply weren't able to match their countrymen.
