Drunken Master skills & Hero Spotlight video

S2 Games has brewed up a new Hero Spotlight video for Drunken Master, the community-voted martial artist who will be added in Friday's patch.

Lunge: Leaps up to 400 distance to a single enemy and deals an enhanced attack, circling around and stunning the target. After a full circle (1.5 seconds) or a second activation, strikes again and pushes the target 400 distance, through any trees or units.

Stagger: Leaps a short distance following terrain pathing and deals physical damage in a small AoE.

Drink: Channeled ability that grants Drunk charges, with a max of 20 at Rank 4. A single charge expires every 3 seconds and heals for 25 HP. With at least 2 Drunk charges, Lunge applies a slow and Stagger grants bonus damage and movement speed for a few seconds.

Untouchable: Grants bonus attack speed and blocks all single-target spells and magic projectiles for 10 seconds. With 4 or more Drunk charges, also grants 40% damage reduction.

Back in May, S2 Games created a poll to let the community decide on a new hero for them to develop, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the hero development process for whichever hero concept received the highest number of votes. Two months later, and the Drunken Master is set to be released with another Chinese-themed hero, Monkey King (see a preview of him here).

(NOTE: Might S2 have plans to develop the Harlequin and Blade Dancer concepts in the future? Hmm...)

Drunken Master appears to be a formidable ganking hero with high mobility in the midst of battle. He has a powerful 10-second ultimate that provides a ton of protection, especially if combined with a Shrunken Head activation. The "Drunk" charges are a modified take on the original hero concept, which involved a more extreme use of the mana bar as a "Drunk" bar. Don't worry, you won't need be constantly stopping to refresh your Drunk charges. A fully-channeled, max rank stack of Drunk charges will theoretically give Drunken Master more than 8 Health Regeneration and bonus spell effects on all of his abilities for almost a full minute after channeling Drink.

How will Drunken Master (and his alumnus, Monkey King) fare in the competitive scene? We may get some idea of that in the MSI vs. OK exhibition match that's happening later today on Honcast. If Chinese-inspired, highly-mobile melee gankers are your type of hero, then this week's patch will be sure to please you!
