Fnatic's effort to focus on the European scene is going strong as they have acquired the talented protoss player Kim "SaSe" Hammar from Sweden.
SaSe has been a part of Fnatic before as a Warcraft 3 team member, so the fit is natural. While we haven't seen much of him lately, there's no doubt that this is a big step in the right direction to getting back into the tournament scene.
SaSe's first scheduled event is stated by Patrik 'cArn' Sättermon, Fnatic's Chief Gaming Officer. "We can now confirm that SaSe will be one of the foreign players to participate in the Taiwan eSports League starting today." It'll be interesting to see how the Swede performs, as he was never known for his stellar results.
SaSe was a staple protoss name some time ago, and many tuned into his stream for his creative and harass-heavy builds. Formerly part of Quantic, he garnered decent tournament results, but gained his many fans for his style. It'll be exciting to see the progression of the young Swede, and with Heart of the Swarm lending itself to rewarding the more creative players in the beginning, he should do just fine.
This is what SaSe had to say on the switch:
"I am really happy to have found such a stable team in fnatic. Now I feel like I don't have to worry anymore and can focus 100% on improving my play...I hope as the year goes by I can show a lot of great games and perfomances! Heart of the Swarm is being released soon and it is time to release the new SaSe as well!"
Also, this
video was released as part of the join. It looks like Fnatic is getting some inspiration from EG.
