Despite much needing victory to reclaim the position of rankings leader, KT Rolster fell short to SK Telecom. EG-TL suffered a similar defeat, which kept them pinned towards the bottom of the table.
In a fun twist of faith, SK Telecom won after getting carried by players far down the individual rankings while its aces in Rain and Fantasy took heavy losses, partaking in a series without too many highlights. Fans attention should be pointed towards the roach drop of s2 against Flash or Fantasy's stoicism on Arkanoid against the ever aggressive Crazy-Hydra but overall the two Proleague behemoths could not deliver an entertainment worthy of the annals.
Same could be said for EG-TL who continue their struggle to come into the top four. Not only that but the joint foreign roster was one step away from establishing a tradition of being all-killed in the first match for the round, giving three easy victories to STX's Classic, Trap and Bogus. It was Jaedong who ultimately saved the team from being 4-0'd once again by punishing Dear's Void Ray opening with a roach timing attack but The Tyrant's triumph could not sway the tides into EG-TL's favor. In the final match of the day, Hyvaa and JYP fought long and hard, putting a very typical late-game PvZ ending to the series.
With the coming of tomorrow, CJ Entus meet Samsung KHAN in a match more important for the former than for the latter. Ever since the start of the Proleague, CJ Entus have been combating their fluctuating results and although they start Round 3 as the #3 team, the middle part of the rankings is a fickle field, with both SKT and Team 8 eager to make a step up.
Team 8 themselves play their first Round 3 match tomorrow right after CJ/Khan. Losing Jaedong did not turn out to be the disaster many expected and after two rounds of competition, KeSPA's team has successfully made its way to the top four. Their score is still in the negative though, so T8 will be going out for a decisive victory tomorrow, in hopes to at least get closer to the zero.
