This just in via Quantic's CEO Mark Ferraz: As of today, Johan "Naniwa" Lucchesi is no longer part of QxG's roster as his request to be released from the team was granted.

Seizing an offer that was "more similar to what [his] visions [were] for [his] career", Naniwa joined Quantic Gaming in December last year after a three-month stay in Complexity. Carrying the white-and-red uniform, Naniwa brought his new team a multitude of top eight finishes in several of the largest tournaments on the scene, including GSL Code S (two top eights), MLG Winter Arena, MLG Winter Championship, DreamHack Summer 2012 and, finally, a top four at WCS Sweden Nationals.

For reasons still undisclosed, however, this partnership between Quantic Gaming and Lucchesi has come to an end. Quantic CEO Mark Ferraz had this to say:

"Johan Lucchesi asked to be released from his contract today. Quantic has granted this request effective immediately. While we believe that Johan has thrived in his relationship with our family, we do not believe in holding players who no longer wish to be with us. We are grateful for the time he has spent with us and we are proud of the growth he has shown as a player and as a member of this community."

We will bring you more news on the matter as soon as such become available.
