MLG and TwitchTV partner up with CBSi

CBS Interactive--the online content network for entertainment of CBS Corporation--expands its reach by signing partnerships with TwitchTV and Major League Gaming. According to the source, the combination of CBSi and MLG will serve "more than 3 billion minutes of live gaming and eSports content" monthly.

Having a CBSi/TwitchTV partnership means that the two networks will reach out to a total of 25 million people a month--16 million coming from TwitchTV--and that CBSi will exclusively sell advertising, promotions and sponsorships for the TwitchTV community.

Having this partnership as premise, CBSi will also become the exclusive online broadcaster of the Major League Gaming Pro Circuit competitions.

"The people that visit TwitchTV make up the most engaged audience online today. Each tournament we broadcast draws millions of fans that congregate online through our platform to route for their teams and engage with their peers through social media,” said Emmett Shear, CEO of TwitchTV. “The combination of TwitchTV’s engagement and the reach of GameSpot's premium editorial content is a perfect match. With the benefit of the sales and marketing efforts of CBS Interactive, we expect this partnership to be a great success."

Additionally, CBSi has established a cooperation with another one of the biggest American eSports tournaments - the North American Starleague, currently in its third season.
