Liquid`Zenio is the first quarter finalist of the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship. The zerg who had a tough time, finishing third in Group C yesterday, had very little trouble outplaying Supernova in four sets.

On Antiga, a two-base ling/baneling bust set Supernova's economy behind, forcing him to lift his natural. Once his income was restored to its previous stable state, the terran attempted to return the favour by attempting a hellion counter attack but as that got shut down, it only put an urge in Zenio to continue biting at Supernova's face. Another low-econ aggression was initiated by the zerg, this time bringing along roaches as well but it appeared that Supernova was well fortified. Under high-ground siege tank fire, Zenio supply plummeted and he tapped out.

The second set on Entombed Valley went into the late game as Supernova's double proxy rush got spotted. Knowing that he is safe for the moment, Zenio continued to grow larger and larger, reaching brood lord tech relatively unhindered. Although with a better supply count throughout the whole game, Supernova's army composition was not optimal and he experienced increasingly harder times trying to hold his positions before finally gg-ing out.

In game three on Altar, Supernova went for a low-ground marine/tank push after his hellion opening got shut down. Although this did kill Zenio's natural, the zerg had two more bases up and running plus an ability to bark back with his spire tech. A stream of lings and mutas cleaned the terran push eventually but Supernova maintained his aggression, trying to hunt down the zerg bases in order to compensate for his very late third and fourth. As all those attempts were thwarted, though, Supernova was just washed away by the critical mutaling/baneling mass.

The series was closed on Cloud Kingdom when Supernova tried to hide a double expand behind a banshee/hellion opening but as it got spotted Zenio some time later, the zerg just made use of the timing window before Supernova's many barracks and blooming economy kick in and destroyed him with a single roach/baneling/mutalisk attack.

- "I was confident going against Supernova as I live and train with him," Zenio told us after his match.
