IEM: Day 1 results see 4 Koreans go through

The first day of the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship is over. Both groups saw players eliminated by the barest of margins.

MMA topped Group A in dominating fashion, winning all five of his matches 2-0. viOLet advanced in second with an aggregate game score of 3-2 (7-5). JYP took third with an aggregate game score of 3-2 (6-5). Socke was unlucky not to advance, finishing fourth in the group at 3-2 (6-6).

Group B featured lots of PvP, with Nerchio the only non-Protoss in the extremely tight group; the top four finishers all went 3-2. The Polish Zerg finished in an extremely close fourth at 3-2 (6-5). Very little separated him from group winner MC, who advanced 3-2 (8-4). elfi finished second at 3-2 (8-6) despite defeating MC 2-0. Third place was claimed by HasuObs, who advanced over Nerchio by virtue of his 2-0 victory in their best-of-three.
