The rumours that have wandered around in the community have finally been confirmed - all televised StarCraft 2 tournaments in Korea will be able to be held via LAN. The option will be included in the "StarCraft II Professional Edition".
This is undoubtedly a deep curtsy towards professional SC2 gaming and will greatly improve the quality of the major tournaments and will ease their organization. The professional edition, however, will be available for televised tournaments only and such bundle will not be released for the public. In addition, it is now confirmed that StarCraft 2 will not have physical copies in South Korea and will be download only.
Furthermore, South Korea and Taiwan will have the option of open StarCraft 2 beta, which will serve as a demo to attract potential players. Alternative paying methods have also been introduced for those countries and gamers now have the option to pay $70 USD for the full game, $10 USD for a 30-day access or use the $2 per day option if they play very rarely. Also, South Korean WoW players will get free access to StarCraft 2 online as a part of their subscription as long as it is active.
Finally, professional StarCraft 2 players will be able to earn a Blizzard University Scholarship in addition to their regular incomes to further support their dedication to the game.
