As WCG is coming closer and closer GosuGamers members start making interviews themselves. DX mrdungx says, "I've just finished this interview with DVN.MEOBOT (Protoss, Vietnam) tonight. He'll leave for Singapore tomorrow morning. Hope that it can be useful to GG.NET!"
Dx mrdungx brings us one more pre-WCG interview. It is short interview of DVN.MEOBOT, fortunately in English. In it you will hear a more humble Vietnam than their usual national team rhetoric. As the event gets closer and closer, reality sets in and the oohhhh man, what have I got myself into feeling becomes more common.
Hi Dat Le. Congratulations on your participation at the WCG Grand Final 2005! Some introduction words?
DVN.MeObOt: Hi. I'm Dat Le Nguyen The, 18. I'm living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
So have you prepared much for the Grand Final? How many hours do you spend for Starcraft per day?
DVN.MeObOt: Well not so much, mostly playing with my friends. Sometimes I played at PGTour but I gave up at C- due to the slow connection. Normally I play around 2 to 3 hours per day.
Your goal at Singapore this year?
DVN.MeObOt: Play as well as possible against all opponents. I will try my best.
What do you think about other players in your group? Is there any player that you expect to meet?
DVN.MeObOt: I don't know well about other players in my group so I can't say much. The only thing I know is that their skills are better or at least same as mine.
I expect to see Xellos and Foru.
What do you think about WCG maps this year?
DVN.MeObOt: I don't really like them, especially Paranoid and Azalea. These 2 maps are not suitable for my often-used strategies.
About the Starcraft scene in Vietnam, what do you think about Starcraft competitions at WCG Vietnam this year? How do you think Starcraft in Vietnam would grow in the near future?
DVN.MeObOt: I think Starcraft competitions at WCG Vietnam this year were not really interesting. Some games are even very unequal.
I hope Starcraft will develop fast and strongly with more clans, more players, more sponsors, and more great tournaments.
Although the game appeared in Vietnam right at its very first days, this year is the first time Starcraft is held in WCG Vietnam and Vietnamese gamers playing in the WCG Grand Final. How do you rate Vietnam's Starcraft comparing with world level?
DVN.MeObOt: I think we are at the average level of the world.
What about in the future?
DVN.MeObOt: I think it depends on what I have just mentioned, sponsorship, organizations, tournaments etc.
I always hope our Starcraft community will be come wider and stronger, and we will have world widely known players.
How did you first come to Starcraft? Could you share some secrets on how to become a top player in Vietnam?
DVN.MeObOt: I first played Starcraft a long time ago. My sister's friend installed the game into my computer. Back to those days, I only played against computer or at LAN, and just money maps. I quit after that and just come back 2 years ago. This time I played seriously and passionately. I gradually gained my skills by playing with good gamers from Vietnam and all over the world. I don't have much secret. Simply confidence and passion.
Starcraft is a great game and also a very addictive one. How did it affect your life? This year your also have the entrance exam to university (In Vietnam it's extremely competitive, like in Korea, Japan etc.) at the same time with WCG. And you've overcome them both with outstanding result. Could you share some experiences with other gamers?
DVN.MeObOt: Well I don't have much experience. Just concentrate on what you want, and manage your time well. I still played Starcraft ~2 hours per day during exam revision.
A memorable experience with Starcraft.?
DVN.MeObOt: Once I was late for my date because of playing Starcraft. My girlfriend was really angry and I had to implore for her forgiveness for a long time. Since then I no longer date. No just kidding.
What do you like best about Starcraft?
DVN.MeObOt: Its balance and strategy variety.
Who is your favourite gamer?
DVN.MeObOt: IntoTheRainbow.
Thanks a lot for your time. Wish you best of luck in the Final. Any shout-out to everyone?
DVN.MeObOt: I want to send my best wishes to WCG Grand Final, to all the participants and fans. I will try my best to fight, for my clan, my nation and also for myself. Big Hi to GG.net!
Thank you!
