Bettet Sweet

[s]blizzard[/s]

A lot of recent activity at Blizzard, a new site, more job offers and Blizzcon reving up. Bitter sweet sentiments run high in the Starcraft community, however despite this, we the forgotten son's need no hope, for we will endure.

This Blizzcon may or may not be the success Blizzards hopes for. Their main goal, as far as altruistic intentions go, is to say thank you to their fans. Nevertheless even though you may have noticed a large dose of publicity and corporate fanfare, it has been their intention from the very beginning to make the event a celebration for the fans rather than a marketing ploy.

Their success in WoW is perhaps the motor that drives all this, so even though we are all hard core Starcraft fans, we can not but help feel grateful for the things that WoW is bringing and may still bring. Lately Battle.net and Blizzard.com have undergone a plethora of announcements, have had perhaps more activity now in the mother sites than there has been in the last 4 years. They are indeed trying to connect with their fans more actively.

Nevertheless having said all this, we believe we are not alone in our disappointment with their last mystery announcement and inauguration of their latest website version. For a WoW or a Wacraft fan things maybe are different, but as Starcraft players all we see is less mention, less site space dedicated to Starcraft and blunt neglet. Even though some of us may find some hope and solace with Kerrigan's cry for help, a few of us do not share Blizzard's humor.
