FoV, SoJu and HR-Ball to WCG

The World Cyber Games 2005 in Singapore gets closer and closer as days pass by. Not too long ago, the Korean World Cyber Games qualifier was settled. Of the 8 finalists, 4K-FoV, WE.SoJu and TmG)HomeRunBall were the ones ending Top 3, and will thereby go to Singapore in November.

One of the most exciting qualifiers in World Cyber Games is of course the Korean ones, which are said by some to be harder for the Koreans to win than the Grand Final in Singapore. The competition is very hard, and Korea has many star players who could bring home the WCG Gold Medal in WarCraft 3, but only three will be given the opportunity to stretch out their wings and bear the Korean flag proudly in Singapore in November. Three of the absolute favourites were SK.Zacard, 4K-FoV (picture) and Moon. In an exciting Single Elimination tournament the eight finalists were set up in a regular playoff tournament. Here's how it went:

Ohjie takes down Zacard, WCG'04 runner-up!

The first round shocked many - Ohjie took down last year's second place SK.Zacard after picking up a 0-1 disadvantage and won with 2-1. And two of the predicted winners Moon and FoV faced eachother in the first round, a close match which FoV took home in the end.

FoV and SoJu safe in Round 2

Second round was won by SoJu (pic) and FoV, giving them a safe ticket to Singapore, however a winner had to be crowned and the match for 3rd place was still left, which stood between HomeRunBall and Ohjie. Also in a close match the two underdogs between, HomeRunBall took home the win, and will thereby follow FoV and SoJu to Singapore later in November.

Interviews with #1 and #2

Replays.net did two short interviews with the two players SoJu and FoV right after the semi-finals, when they were already set for the WCG Grand Final in Singapore. In it, FoV said he expected to be the grand champion, and SoJu said he were to relax and play with a calm attitude. Check them out, as they are translated from Chinese to English by ryanz48.
