CB NC: Quarterfinals ahead!

[s]event_125[/s]

ClanBase Nations Cup IX is soon coming to and end. We are closing in on the quarterfinals, with only six teams left. Switzerland won against Norway yesterday, and thereby took the last quarter final spot - against Bulgaria.

After a group play of six groups with four teams in each, the hexafinals were played, and were just finished yesterday. The last pending match was the one between Norway Norway and Switzerland Switzerland, which ended in a win for the Swiss - a total score of 3-1. The only Norwegian player who managed to beat his opponent was fnatic.Creolophus. Instead, Norway will have to watch the close-up of ClanBase Nations Cup from the side. The match-ups have been released, and here is how it looks like:

ClanBase Nations Cup IX Quarter Finals

Sweden Sweden vs. France France
Russia Russia vs. Croatia Croatia
Bulgaria Bulgaria vs. Switzerland Switzerland

Sweden, one of the top favourites

One of the top favourites should be Sweden, who haven't lost a single match yet. They are also doing good in the other nations cup, hosted by the ESL. They have a bit of different team players, but some are the same. GosuGamers contacted the Swedish ClanBase manager Sweden Spittie and asked a few questions. We started off with the team's performance in the cup so far.
- My performance has been excellent! And the players have done good too, he says with a smile. Sweden's run has been all wins - Poland, Slovakia, Austria and Lithuania. We asked spittie about that, which team he felt was the toughest.
- Poland was the toughest, not tough enough but it was a nice try by them. Spittie further says that the victories have been obvious, considering the player material he's got.
What do you think of your opponents France?
- France's national team at ClanBase is like the talent squad of LanFan or mYm, he says, and indicates that it will be a piece of cake, just like the rest of the nations.

Russia and Bulgaria, also possible winners

Russia Russia has a really strong team as well, with top notch players such as Deadman, Caravaggio and XyLigan. They should not have too much of a trouble against their quarter final opponents Switzerland. We also have Bulgaria Bulgaria, which are the reigning champions. These two teams, including Sweden, should be the three qualifying teams for the semi final.

As soon as dates are known, we will add the matches at GosuBet! Stay tuned!
