Incruit StarLeague is the name of the upcoming OSL season and now we've finally got a look at the maps for it. Plasma is a 3 player untraditional map, while Return of the King is a more standard 4 player map.
Return of the King
Return of the King looks like a mix of a lot of other pro maps actually. It's corner expansions are a copy of old Namja Iyagi, while the landscape in the center is very reminiscent of Wuthering Heights. The expansion layout is similar to R-Point and many other maps.In other words there's nothing too revolutionizing about this map. At first glance it looks like Terran might be able to turtle well on it due to how narrow many of the paths are. As usual we'll have to wait and see how the pros play it before the balance is revealed.
Plasma
Plasma on the other hand is not your typical map, although we're getting used to seeing at least one experimental map a season now. Plasma has a very small main with a tiny ramp and then a mineral only expansion below. On the other side of your main there's a gas expo as well. This is then seperated from the other bases with rows of five zerg eggs, which is going to take quite a while to break through. Fast exping should be the norm here, unless you go for a do or die strategy. It will be interesting to see how the game unfolds after the map opens up slightly though.
