When » GosuGamers spoke to CocoA about the ESL PGL qualifier, he told us Bruce and Fraer had faked a match result that would depend which player would advance of CocoA and Fraer, there was a long discussion. Not until today the ESL administration has given their official statement on the matter.
They still consider the 'evidence', meaning two screenshots with Bruce saying it was 2-1 and not 2-0, was not enough. Read the full statement below.
After the game Bruce vs Fraer had been played out, we received a screenshot from another player, which was supposed to show that the match between Bruce and Faer ended differently from what they had confirmed. Two ESL admins checked the screenshot and came to the conclusion that the screenshot could not be taken as sole evidence. The same was true for another screenshot that was submitted to the admins a little later. The Grand Finals will be played on 15th May in China. Qualified are Draco, IdrA, Advokate and IefNaij.
The only possible path of action, considering there was no convincing evidence, was to reject the protest. Thus, the ESL upholds the result of the game as originally entered.
