[Replay of the Month] Germany - France

[s]rated_replay[/s]

Gosugamers will try to open a new series, where we pick out one game each month, that impressed us so deeply, that it's worth a news. This time it's the July replay: Germany versus France in MYM Prime Nations Winnerbracket Round 2. If you like the series, we might even go for a weekly basis.

The lineups

Banned heroes: Queen of Pain, Nerubian Assassin, Lord of Olympia, Sand King, Silencer, Warlock.

MYM Prime Nations WB round 2
France France0:1Germany Germany
XpLo[0] (Obsidian Destroyer, top) meetya.de (Bristleback, top)
Krabbe[11] (Rogue Knight, mid) Kruemel.de (Beastmaster, jungle)
amyga[20] (Tormented Soul, mid) KuroKy.de (Tinker, mid)
Rwar[13] (Priestess of the Moon, bot) Levent.de (Slayer, bot)
SOYCD[21] (Oblivion, bot) H4nn1.de (Stone Giant, bot)

Undoubtfuly one of the best games in the whole tournament so far. Extremely high level, very good drafting from both sides and perfect execution of the lineups.

The opening

Jungle Beastmaster is best to use on the sentinel side - you cant start easy by pulling creeps towards the creep camp north-west of the third bottom tower. On scourge side, it's best to start with gnoll camp, but Rawr placed a ward in the creep camp above, rendering it impossible. Kruemel had to creep the camp south of the second top tower, which is not the easiest thing.

Sacrifice

France brutally made the most of Rexxars delay in leveling, the Germany key initiator, ganking them and gaining map control throughout the early game. As Krabbe got First Blood on Tinker mid, he went roaming, killing both meetya and one of bottom lane heroes. Lina and Tiny, a potentially devastating lane combo, had to play it more steadily. Germany was farming really nice spite the disadvantages, and they pulled out some great team battles against the flawlessly playing French, who didn't hesitate to to exchange the kills one for one, as they had a steady score advantage throughout until the late game.

Germany's Gambit

Germany had a hard time defending against the pushes, but after a very calm early game with a ganking lineup, they managed to siege the sentinel, letting meetya farm with ease. Around 41th minute they won a pretty nice push, and 2 minutes after Bristle had the Radiance. Speaking of BalancedBack - some may think "Lul, no watch, BB picked = GG". Well, BB doesn't win games, not anymore. It has some serious lacks - it can't win the games alone, he needs the team to not fall in levels, as well as is pretty much item dependent. meetya was doing his best in team fights, but if it wasn't for the rest of the German players, who were running around on the last bits of health points and using their 4 (!) Bottles, French would have won with ease.

Equalization

When Germany got farmed, they pushed the outside towers quite fast. The problem started, when they had to push the base one's. On the choke there was Leshrac, Pugna and Harbringer and Mirana all waiting with their deadly AoE combo, so the sieging was really hard.

Checkmate

If Germany could pull the French out of the base and win a fight, they still didn't have enough HP and heroes left to commence a successful push. It changed in the 68th minute, where they lost only two heroes, and could take down the bottom base tower. After that, France tried to change the tides of the game, but Obsidian didn't get enough farming, and couldn't counter really farmed Bristle. Germany was slowly taking down the towers and raxes, and ended the game after a 87 minute clash.

Ending note

We recommend this replay, for everyone who seeks teamplay at it's best, and really skilled DotA players giving their best. H4nn1 playing a key Tiny, blink/avalanche initiating team fights, and each of his Tosses to the team mates resulted in a kill, no misses there. Levent playing great Lina, bit in the back, but placing incredible stuns, really key ones to add. SOYCD microing a Necromicon Pugna like he was made to, Rawr saving Obsidian with his ultimate and juking the whole (!) German team alone. Krabbe shined mauling everyone, dominating whole mid game. KuroKy coming back to game after a really tough laning phase, when he was first blooded and underleveled, which stripped him of the power of his nukes. Kruemel also made his way towards the game, after being ward countered in the beginning, along with a great move of getting Eul's instead of usual Heart or Necromicon, which helped lot more than the before mentioned would. Amyga rarely missing stuns, countering hawk with random Edict casting and achieving the mid game dominance with Krabbe. Last, but not least - the two carriers. Not only did meetya and XpLo both show outstanding last hitting skills, but had the incredible awareness in terms of helping their teams and leading the team fights.

Be sure to watch the replay and grab the bets, as the final games are beginning at 21:30 CET today. One thing is sure - France has nothing to loose now, and they will put up a fight, and with their insane team play, they won't be an easy opponent for the stacked Germans.
