The ClanBase Nations Cup for WarCraft 3 has always been a bit in the shadows compared to the ENC Cup, hosted by ESL. Now, their head supervisor, HuNDeN, is retiring from ClanBase, and the future for the Cup looks dark.

Yesterday, the ClanBase Nations Cup WarCraft 3 supervisor Sweden HuNDeN announced on the ClanBase website that he will be retiring. He says the reason for this is the summer and that he need a vacation. "In the last couple of month, there haven't been much enthusiasm surrounding the cup, I'm tired of the NC, it has given me nothing but problems." he writes. He also says that his time at ClanBase has been everything but pleasant, and is retiring for good. "[...]in the end, I just didn't care anymore.".

21 participating nations

ClanBase Nations Cup WarCraft III started off with 21 nations in a group play, where the Top 4 teams from each of the four groups advanced to a Single Elimination tournament. The first round is almost over, with a couple of single matches left to be played.

Whether the ClanBase Nations Cup for WarCraft 3 will be cancelled or not is not decided. HuNDeN, being the main administrator of the Cup, wishes everybody good luck in the future, and mentions aShuN, who according to himself was the one who worked the hardest.
