Nerdstomper picks up HoN

As announced in the forums recently, Nerdstomper, a site dedicated to bringing it's member's gaming content via streams, videos, blogs and much more has decided to include HoN along with their coverage of World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2.

Although it runs on a pay-to-view model, charging a minimal fee of $3~4 a month depending on how long the subscription to cover bandwidth charges, the videos currently available on Nerdstomper offer a more educational approach to the game rather than the more entertaining oriented Honcast or Gamereplays. Nerdstomper is currently affliated with many pros in the US HoN scene such as eG's chu and YoDa and SK-Gaming's Bdiz and Draskyl who will continue providing their insight on how to improve a player's gameplay or how to build a certain hero.

A free featured video is displayed for potential members to view on the site's homepage. You could also check out the video here. It's a guide to Doctor Repulsor by YoDa, who explains how to optimally build the hero followed by explaining how he should be played by analysing a replay of his, pointing out mistakes and reasonings for his moves along the way.

Gosugamers also approached Mike "Abz" from Nerdstomper.com to enquire about them taking on HoN and about their future plans, and here's what he had to say.

Nerdstomper specializes in providing HD instructional videos made by professional gamers for WoW, HoN and SC2.

The decision to pick up HoN was fairly easy. Most are probably aware that DotA/HoN doesn't exactly have the easiest learning curve, and HoN was special in this regard. A good chunk of the HoN community had never played DotA, myself included. Hopefully our inclusion of HoN will not only raise the average PSR of the community, but also grow the community as well.

Our future plans for HoN are still somewhat uncertain. I'm not sure if there will be any North American LAN events in 2011, but short term we're just focused on providing the best video content we can find. As of now we've mainly been focusing beginning/intermediate skill levels, but we do have some high end content waiting in the wings. Look for a sick series about team fighting from EG, some guides about drafting, and some vent cast of the top ranked teams in the world very shortly.

Although the community is having mixed feelings about the pay-per-view model, it is somewhat a bit too early to judge how this site will perform in HoN. However, with it's currently uncontested content of good video guides made by the pros themselves, it is safe to say content-wise it is definitely off to a good start.
