Matt Juttelstad Wins 2012 World Poker Tour Lucky Hearts Poker Open

Play wrapped up Tuesday in the World Poker Tour Lucky Hearts Poker Open at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Matt Juttelstad, who had held the chiplead at the end of both day 1 and 2, and was in in 2nd place coming into the final table, was the eventual winner.

As heads-up play began, Juttelstad held the lead with 6.82 million in chips to Gigi Gagne's 2.03 million. Gagne never gained traction, his stack never going over 2.3 million as Juttelstad kept knocking her stack back down whenever she tried to get the ball rolling.

The final hand was a fast one. With blinds at 40k/80k/10k Juttelstad limped in from the button and Gagne checked her option to see the 532 flop. Gagne led for 300k into the 180k pot, and Juttelstad called. An ace hit the turn, and Gagne moved all-in for 1.8 million. Juttelstad snap-called holding 64 for the flopped nuts. Gagne had turned a five-high straight with T4. A river 8 was no help to Gagne and she was eliminated in second place, earning the largest score of her career — $158,194.
The win netted Juttelstad the $268,444 first-place prize, including a $25,500 seat in to the WPT World Championship at the end of the season. Juttelstad was also awarded a beautiful WPT trophy and a second trophy from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
