The American organization known for its Call of Duty and CS:GO teams has signed an Overwatch roster and will contest the $25,000 OG Invitational as its debut event.
FaZe Clan are having yet another expansion this year. In January 2016, the organization entered the CS:GO scene by acquiring the roster of G2 Esports and today it dips its toe into another team-based FPS – Overwatch.
FaZe’s line-up for Blizzard’s hugely popular new release contains a handful of names familiar to fans of competitive Overwatch. The roster is headlined by ex-IDDQD and Rogue DPS player Lucas “Mendokusaii” Hanaksson and two former team-mates of his in Elvina “Evokje” Padegimas and Marcel “Veineless” Lehmann, with whom Mendokusaii competed at TakeTV’s TakeOver tournament in May. The three Europeans will partner up with three Americans in Clamp, Wonderfuls and ex-Complexity CS:GO player fRoD to complete the roster.
FaZe’s debut event will be the $25,000 OG Invitational this weekend from June 25-26. The newly formed roster will have to prove itself against Overwatch ranking leaders Cloud9 and EnVyUs as well as other top performing teams such as Luminosity, Gale Force, Team Liquid and more.
