Hun-Shen 'Shaq' Lin Wins Macau Millions

Chinese Taipei's Hung-Shen "Shaq" Lin won the PokerStars Macau Millions 2011 main event that featured a record breaking 1,329 entries. Lin won HK$400,000 for first place.

The event has a special format that allowed seven day 1 entries. It was the first tournament in Asia to reach the 1,000 entry mark.

2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel was the biggest poker celebrity at the 2011 Macau Millions main event at the Casino Grand Lisboa.

Allowing seven starting days with players allowed to buy-in on multiple days if they bust out, the $2,200 buy-in HKD $1,500,000 guaranteed event set its mind on establishing a big record for the Asia-Pacific poker region.

“I was quietly confident about reaching 1,000 players,” said Danny McDonagh, the recently promoted PokerStars Director of Live Operations in Asia-Pacific.

“This year the popularity of the Macau Millions is so much greater, particularly within the region,” continued Mr McDonagh. “Poker is really taking off in Asia.”
