Under the flag of Brazilian organization SevenWars, the former Mexican team Lyon Gaming won the first leg of the Latin America Cup.
Yesterday, the Movistar Arena hosted the first “Parada Competitiva”. The Movistar Arena, one of the largest multi-purpose arenas in South America, situated in Santiago, Chile, welcomed the first regional finals of the Latin America Cup. The tournament took host to the top four teams from the north and south Latin America servers, and offered a prize pool of $36,000 USD.
SevenWars, the Brazilian organisation with the Mexican former Lyon Gaming line-up, current Latin American champions and fourth place runners up at World Cyber Games 2013 showed strong as the fan favourites. They beat out Pineapple Express in the semi-finals, advancing to the grand finals where they defeated Kaos Latin Gamers to take the tournament.
SevenWars took home the trophy, and also won $16,000 and points for the tournament’s ranking, while second place, Kaos Latin Gamers brought home $10,000 for their performance. The third and fourth place teams, Pineapple Express and Team Quetzal, each earned themselves $5,000.
