After their 2-0 set against Team Coast, Counter Logic Gaming has shown up huge in the North American LCS playoffs. Tomorrow, they face Team Solomid in longest standing rivalry to date in League of Legends.
Team Coast decided against a 2v2 in the first game which would be their greatest demise after the "rush hour" defeated the two in a 2v2 and landed a kill without jungler intervention. The 2v2 kill followed a jungle invade from Counter Logic Gaming which successfuly blew two of Coast's flashes.
CLG maintained full control throughout the course of the game and they were confident enough to perform risky dives, including a 2v1 tower dive with tower aggro top. Shiphtur was a super hero for his team and had the best score, showing diving capabilities even when his team was behind, but his kills didn't outweigh the impact of dragon, which CLG picked up.
CLG took an interesting approach to their composition and had Link build support items on his mid-lane Soraka and Aphromoo build AP items on his support Lulu. Safe to say, CLG crushed Team Coast in game one to kick off the set 1-0.
The plague of the new patch would hit the second game and the two teams would commit to four man tower races, which CLG won despite being disadvantageous from the 2v2 tower dive. Team Coast had a much stronger showing and were ahead in kills in this game, but Counter Logic Gaming stayed focus and had their mind set on the objective play.
Team Coast had uncharacteristically strong rotatiosn and had an advantage over CLG in that respect as the game proceeded on, which included a few very necessary solo picks on Doublelift and Dexter. Unfortunately for them, CLG returned the favor with picks, which happened repeatedly in Coast's jungle. after the snowball effect of a rushed inhibitor snowballing into baron and another inhibitor, CLG easily took the set 2-0.
