The Season 3 North American qualifier is nigh its end as four teams made it into the championship series. Tonight, we learn who will be the eight and final team to make the S3 circuit.
Day two alternated between tense, action packed games and one-sided manhandling once start was given to the quarterfinals. Team Fear were the first ones to make the S3 quota after pulling an incredible comeback in the first game against Meat Playground and flatout outplaying them in the second, much of which they owe to Zuna's Kog'Maw and Twitch.
In the only match that went to a third set, GGU (formerly Team Dynamic) extorted a 2-1 victory from their scrim buddies of Dirt Nap Gaming, relying on global ult Shen/Karthus combo in the first game and AoE CC plus Twitch composition in the third.
It was team Azure that drew the shortest straw for the quarter finals as they ended up playing the powerhouse Curse Gaming. In the shortest series of the night, Crs were merciless and applied total control to jungle and lanes in both matches to send Azure down to the bracket for 5th place.
Finally, the led by Chuuper TBC secured the seventh Season 3 Championship spot after defeating Marn's Team MRN in two relatively equal sets.
Three more matches are to be played tonight to determine which team will grab the last seed for the circuit. At 20:00 CET, DNG are playing Azure, followed by MP vs MRN at 00:00 CET. The deciding match is set to begin at 03:00 CET.
