For two months, AnubiA has hosted several online DotA tournaments for semi-professional teams, which were generally well received. After a string of successful events in Europe, AnubiA turned its attention East by announcing two brand new leagues: Arabian Pick League Divisions 1 and 2.
According to AnubiA Head Organizer, Kepsuk, the move was made in an effort to revive the Arab DotA scene, which has been remained in a state of disarray as of late. He opines that because of the absence of local competitions, Arab players are forced to compete with Europeans whilst contending with latency issues on a daily basis.
With the creation of these new leagues, AnubiA hopes to resolve these problems. Equipped with efficient host-bots, Arab Pick League Division 1 will consist of 10 teams which must earn qualification through a series of national qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Division Two is open to all members of the Arab community. Having no qualifiers of its own, the second division serves as a launching pad for newly formed teams to show their mettle on a competitive level.
The Arabian Pick League will also be applying the use of the new DotA 6.69c map as the official league map for all its games; by doing this, organisers hope participating teams will be able to employ strategies of their own and make use of the various gameplay and hero changes.

"Honestly, the Arab DotA scene is kind of dead and most of the Arab players have to merge with European teams to get a chance to take part of Online European events. Most of the time, the real problems were the lag and Internet issues but since the apparition of host-bots, delay and latency problems were solved.
A community was needed to support them and after discussing with the Anubia Staff about giving a chance to Arab teams have their own DotA Championship similar to the Frenchies (Argh-League), Europeans (DotA-League) and Balkans (BDL). We then decided to make a pick league with free registration for Division 2 and organise qualifier stages to get into Division 1."
