tmsR and KheZu parting ways

DreamHack Winter 2013 is officially in the books and the highly anticipated roster-shuffle season is in effect. Although HoN Tour Season 2 puts a little bit of a damper on this great time of the year, Too Much Sugar comes out as the first roster, announcing the departure of their suicide player KheZu.

DreamHack has ended, now the teams prepare to get themselves into the best possible position for the final stretch of HoN Tour Season 2, leading up to the massive International Grand Finals with $150,000 USD on the line. The first team to make a move after the big DHW event is Too Much Sugar, who announced the departure from one of the longest members in KheZu.

The suicide player of Blackfade and stayGreen fame formed the team after DreamHack Summer 2013 alongside his former sG teammate sLiCKz and former coL player Moonmeander. Now this partnership has come to an end after five months of cooperation and some nice results - including a runner-up position in the Sound Blaster Heroes League.

It was all a bit foggy at first, since the initial rumours and reports from DreamHack Winter 2013 and KheZu's Facebook page indicated the team staying together. The talk in the Elmia was all about roster changes and reassigning key players to new positions, while keeping the team intact and all members in place. KheZu confirmed those rumours on his Facebook fan page yesterday in the afternoon, making it clear that the changes inside of tmsR are merely effecting the specific roles and not the personal. Nine hours later an update appeared on the Facebook fan page though, stating that the team parted ways with KheZu and he is now no longer a part of his old team. Words like "apparently" and the quick change of opinions are indicating some friction inside of Too Much Sugar, but none was ready to comment or make a statement about that yet.

Haxxeren confirmed though, that tmsR is currently looking for fifth players. During the talks he was open about the plans of the team in terms of role changes, making it clear that those reports will still become truth. Most likely all four remaining players will end up in new roles, giving Too Much Sugar a completely new look. Haxxeren furthermore gave a little insight on the situation of letting KheZu go, stating that it was merely a decision based on roles. None of the tmsR player really felt comfortable in the jungle role, meaning that a player for that position had to be found. As a result one of the five players had to go, which ended up being the young German.

Interpreting Haxxeren's statement in this regard leaves the door wide open for a plethora of options. It seems confirmed now, that Tankafett will no longer remain in the role of the jungler, but is most likely going to wind up taking over the support role. The stats of Tanka already indicated in the past, that he is a very efficient support player, since tmsR moved him out of the jungle into an aggressive second support role more often than any other team rotated their designated jungle player. The reassignment of the other players is really up for grabs, but judging on Haxxeren's remarks about everyone rotating in the position would lend credence to the speculation of Haxx moving into the middle lane, sLiCKz going back to carry and Moonmeander once again playing the suicide position. This all is speculation, but confirmation will be out soon, when the eighth cycle of HoN Tour kicks off on Saturday.
