Europe dominates second CIS/EU tournament

In the first CIS/EU tournament, the CIS region came to a respectable result claiming two of the Top 4 spots. This time the fate changed and all four European teams were rolling through the competition of the Garena region.

It was almost two month when the first ever clash between the CIS region and their European competitors went through, with One Trick Pony defeating iTS in the Grand Finals for the crown. Despite the CIS team ultimately losing in the Finals, the success of that region was still positive in the minds of the organizers. It was reason enough to bring the regions together for a second time - once again on CIS servers.

This time the tournament even introduced a little group stage to start off the event, bringing more and more action to HoN fans. Yet, that group stage was the end of the line for all four Russian teams, as the Europeans were just on another level that particular Sunday. Group A was won by QsQ, who used Superkge as a ringer in place of Style. Second place went to ItsCute, a new team around Tankafett, Fedexftw, Znoowy, Buch and Ownedme.

Group B was won by 4 Friends and iNsania, who could edge out Unknown for the first place finish in the Group. Cats and Friends could not record a single victory, even getting beat by the young and emerging CIS team SW4G.

These results set up QsQ against Unknown and a clash between 4 Friends and iNsania and ItsCute. While ItsCute had a good time against the other team and advanced to the Grand Finals rather quickly, the second Semis sparked up some controversy. The entire match got delayed due to technical issues on Jonassomfan's side. According to ArchiTiger from Unknown the break almost lasted an hour. At the end of the break the team of Unknown was extremely frustrated and QsQ marched over them straight into the Grand Final against ItsCute.

That Grand Final turned into a fierce battle that went on for all three maps. In the end QsQ could reign supreme and capture the crown, the $500 USD in prize money and avenge the stain of their premature departure from the first tournament of this series. For ItsCute this tournament success serves as a good start into a potentially permanent team.

Final Standings:

1. Place: Europe QsQ - $500 USD
2. Place: Europe ItsCute - $200 USD
