Orange eSports becomes Malaysian National Champion

After three intense days of the Malaysian elite battling it out, the National Champion of the land is officially determined - Orange eSports. The team rolled through the final bracket to ultimately become the champion of their home land.

They were dominating the group stage and they also dominated the final double elimination bracket - Orange eSports was on top of their game for the entire weekend. The result of that is the National Championship that the five players can now wear with pride.

At the MidValley Center Court the popular team had absolutely no problems in any stages of the tournament. They did not lose a single match in the process of the entire tournament and just flat out dominated their opponents on the final day of the competition. After a little bit of a sloppy start against No Kamlin, they regrouped and just obliterated MuFC and HonPortal, allowing only 11 kills in those two games. With those victories they did not only put demoralizing losses on their main opponents, but also secured their own spot in the Grand Final.

The other two well-known teams had to go a tougher route, with MuFC playing three matches under the pressure of the Lower Bracket, while HonPortal only had to endure that pressure in one game. MuFC was able to edge out a victory over Lon3ly Gaming to then destroy the hopes and dreams of FantastIcBaby. The stage was all set for an interesting Consolation Final between MuFC and HonPortal.

In the end PORT was able to perform almost at their peak and so a fairly convincing 28-16 victory over the DreamHack Summer 2012 participants brought them one step closer to the finish line - one step closer to the pride, honor and 300k RM prize money. For MuFC it was a crushing blow, as the team only finished third in their home region of Malaysia with expectations slightly higher than that.

The Grand Final between HonPortal and Upper Bracket Winner Orange eSports was supposed to be a thrilling and interesting series, but Orange eSports was just way to strong on this Sunday Night in Kuala Lumpur. After conceding the First Blood they just rolled over their opponents with huge plays and superior coordination in clutch situation. In the end they could secure and easy 17-2 victory over the PORT team to secure the National Championship as well as the big paycheck - the biggest in Malaysian eSports history.
