The tournament is coming October 4-5 with $8,000 to be won.
The unique mix of poker, Hearthstone and sealed deckbuilding is a day away. Tomorrow, October 4, eight players will sit around the table to for one multi-layered competition, involving drafting, placing bets and – of course – slinging Hearthstone cards.
Despite the many facets of the tournament, its rules, as explained last week by organizer Andrey “Reynad” Yanyuk, are simple. Each player is given a pot of $1,000 which he can use to make all kinds of bets during the playdays. Then, players will open a bunch of packs from a sealed draft generator and will construct decks from what cards they are given. What will follow is essentially a big round-robin stage and by the end of Wednesday, October 5, the player with the most currency will be crowned champion.
Several of the participants in the inaugural edition will make a return, including finalists Cong “StrifeCro” Shu and Paul “Zalae” Nemeth, alongside Reynad and Jeffrey “Trump” Shih. Popular Hearthstone streamers Sebastian “Forsen” Fors, Haiyu “Eloise” Tang, David “Dog” Caero and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier will complete the line-up.
