What did the best eight players bring to the first ever post-Patron, Last Hero Standing tournament?
This weekend, Sebastian "Xixo" Bentert took his fifth invitational win back-to-back, beating fellow Berliner Tobias "TwoBiers" Groop at the HS Arena Grand Opening. The tournament itself was different from other online battles, to say the least. It arrived mere days after the destruction of [card]Warsong Commander[/card], meaning Patron Warrior was not going to be a dominating deck once again. It had also put aside the standard Conquest format in favor of the long-forgotten Last Hero Standing of 2014.
What did those changes do to the meta? Before we get into our statistical analysis later today, let's look at the decks the top eight players brought to the tournament.
Xixo: Face Hunter • Freeze Mage • Aggro Druid • Patrons
TwoBiers: Midrange Druid • Midrange Hunter • Demon Handlock • Midrange Paladin
Eloise: Secrets Paladin • Midrange Hunter • Midrange Druid • Patrons
Zalae: Secrets Paladin • Midrange Hunter • Deathlord Warrior • Midrange Druid
MrYagut: Oil Rogue • Midrange Hunter • Midrange Druid • Midrange Shaman
Neirea: Freeze Mage • Control Warrior • Control Paladin • Midrange Druid
Rdu: Control Warrior • Freeze Mage • Aggro Druid • Handlock
StrifeCro: Aggro Secrets • Control Warrior • Freeze Mage • Face Hunter
