The big hitters of Group B expectedly advanced over underdogs Handsomeguy and Kalaxz and are now in the playoffs.
Nihilum marquee Adrian “Lifecoach” Koy was the first player to advance from Group B and into the playoffs. The German dodged the other big name in the group in James “Firebat” Kostesich but almost lost himself in the winners bracket as Il-Mook “Handsomeguy” Kang brought him to five games before Lifecoach could finally triumph.
Firebat himself had a rougher time to the playoffs. Archon’s best player lost a narrow set to the Korean and had to fight Maxime “Kalaxz” Thierry in the losers match for his survival. A 3-1 there won him another chance against Handsomeguy but once again the Korean proved to be a formidable opponent. The series went to full five games for the second time, but Firebat was ultimately rewarded with the win that mattered.
Firebat and Lifecoach join the Group A winners Roger and ThijsNL and will be waiting for the other half of the bracket which will be decided today. The show resumes at 14:00 CEST with Group C, featuring reigning champion Hoej, DH: Bucharest winner Stan Cifka, ESL Katowice champion Orange and Chinese qualifier winner Immortal.
