Today NEL announced a new Challenge series, where Japan will compete with China for a $20,000 prize pool.
In the coming month of October the Hearthstone scene will get another interesting showmatch. This time team China will compete with Japan in the fourth series of this kind after CN vs NA, CN vs EU and CN vs SEA for a sizeable prize pool.
Traditionally Japan is a force to be reckoned with in the TCG scene, yet the Hearthstone community never really had the chance to take a peak at what they can bring to the virtual table. Until now.
The tournament will be held on October 25th in the ImbaTV Studio, where both teams will send their five players to compete for the $20,000 prize pool in a best-of-five kill all format. The winner of the showmatch will get $15,000, leaving $5,000 to the runner-up.
China lost two of the three challenge series so far. In December 2013 they lost in a close match vs NA, followed by an 0:4 vs EU in April 2014. In June, China finally got its first win, beating Team SEA with a score of 3:1.
