The French player ToD, constantly in the action, was recently interviewed by Keni over at SK-Gaming. The interview circles around World Cyber Games 2005 in Singapore, an event that ToD rates as his greatest experience.
Yoan "ToD" Merlo, the French King, has taken part in World Cyber Games twice, and have played the consolation final twice. Last year he ended third - this year fourth. Still, he rates Singapore as a better experience. "Singapore is probably the greatest country where I have ever taken part in a tournament", he says, and adds that he had a lot of fun with the other 4K members. "I think it is a stay that will remain in my memory for a long time" he says.

Practiced for WCG in USA
After playing in BlizzCon, a tournament he ended third in, he stayed in USA with a close friend for a week more. There he practiced from WCG, which could've gone better. In the interview he says he had 200 ping on Northrend, meaning he could have had better preparation. Due to this, entering World Cyber Games Grand Final in Singapore, he says he did not expect to end at fourth place. But he did, after playing Grubby in the consolation final, losing 1-2. "The day before the match, with Grubby we went to the best night club in Singapore until 5 am, so we were pretty tired I would say" he says and grins.
ToD criticizes the WCG tournament system
Further down in the interview, ToD looks back on the tournament, and reviews it. He thinks that the WCG tournament system is "far from being good". He would much rather see a group-stage in a best of three-mode, and then a Double Elimination tournament. This tournament system led to a lot of surprises, and ToD finds it pretty sad that some players did not make the cut. "SoJu, xiaOt, and FoV didn’t get as far as they should have had." he says.
There are also a couple of replays available in the feature article. They are 1.20 replays, so you should have no problem viewing them.
