Fair Leads PCA High Roller After Day 1

There are 96 players remaining from the record 151 who entered the $25k buy-in PCA High Roller event Friday. Ryan Fair is the overnight chip leader with 217,200 after the first eight levels of play.

The 151 players created a prize pool of $3,995,500, which 16 players will share while all gearing for the slightly more than $1 million prize for first place.

William Reynolds took down the much smaller 2010 High Roller event for $546k, which is less than what 2nd place will make this year, $554,925.

Some notables eliminated from Day 1: Justin Bonomo, Nick Schulman, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, Jonathan Duhamel, Shaun Deeb, Steve O’Dwyer, Carter Phillips, Darryll Fish, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, John Duthie, Tobias Reinkemeier, Tommy Vedes, Sorel Mizzi, Christian Harder, Jason Sommerville, Shannon Shorr, Scott Seiver, and Dan Kelly.

Still in contention include Phil Collins, Eric Seidel, Johnny Lodden, Masa Kagawa, Jon Little, Joe Cada, Felipe Ramos, Josh Arieh, Cliff Josephy, Isaac Haxton, Matt Affleck, and Humberto Brenes.
