Kim "FruitDealer" Won-Gi overcomes the from many Zerg players blamed imbalance against Terran opponents and wins the first Global StarCraft League, taking home 85,000 US Dollars. Kim "HopeTorture" Sung Je finishes second.

It took FruitDealer five maps to secure his win, only losing on Desert Oasis after a pretty decent comeback of HopeTorture. On the other maps, though, he was dominating his opponent at all times, taking down drops before they reached their final destination, overwhelming HopeTorture with a unit mix of Ultralisks, Zerglings, Banelings, and Infestors. Also, the Zerg player defended an all-in Reaper rush on the last map, Scrap Station.

For that, FruitDealer wins the trophy of the world's largest league, and an immense prize money of approximately 85,000 US Dollars. HopeTorture for his part gets around 26,000 US Dollars.

The qualification for the second season of the Global StarCraft League will kick off next weekend. As of yet, many former StarCraft Brood War pro-gamers will take part, and show off their skill.
