ONE Dota 2 Singapore World Pro Invitational playoffs inched closer to the end as the final top three teams became set.
The ONE Dota 2 Singapore World Pro Invitational playoffs proved that Group B > Group A. As the final three teams have assumed their positions for a battle of the title, they have one thing in common. All three teams are from Group B. Evil Geniuses took the top seed in Group B and then became the first to secure a place in the grand finals when they overpowered Gambit who had taken up the second-place spot in Group B. Now, Gambit will be facing off for a place in the grand finals against the third-place Group B team, Vici Gaming.
The day started off with Alliance going toe-to-toe against Virtus.pro. Alliance took an easy first game, but VP fought back hard to tie up the series taking the second victory after a 51-minute bloodbath. While the deciding game looked to be more evenly matched between the two early on, Alliance were able to take control and secure the final victory and send Virtus.pro packing.
Team Secret was up next against the MDL Chengdu Major runner-up team and the eventual lower bracket kings at this event, ViCi Gaming. Team Secret's only win was a hard-fought victory that almost looked like it might not happen. With the third game on the board, ViCi Gaming absolutely shellacked Team Secret in the third match in just 18 minutes - as to not take any chances.
Up against Alliance next VG made sure to continue their momentum and stomped the European team down into the ground. ViCi Gaming started out the second game just as aggressive and it looked like they might take another easy game, but Alliance fought back hard and held on tight, never giving up. It just wasn't quite enough and VG stormed through to a 2:0 sweep into the top 3.
The event will conclude tomorrow with the action starting at 04:00 CET as ViCi Gaming takes on Gambit for a place in the grand finals.
