2018 starts off with good news for the Na’Vi fans. Their favorite team received the last direct invite at the ESL One Katowice Major.
ESL One’s direct invite to Poland’s first Major means that Na’Vi have already secured two Majors appearances in the first part of the new year. Also invited to the PGL Bucharest Major, Na’Vi now have a couple of opportunities to improve their current Dota Pro Circuit ranking. They are currently ninth in the standings, 225 points behind OG and Vici Gaming who are tied at seventh place with 540 points. While Vici Gaming are confirmed to participate in the Captain’s Draft Minor starting tomorrow, in Galaxy Battles II Major from mid-January, and also in the ESL One Genting Minor at the end of the month, OG are set to participate in the exact same events except the Genting Minor.
For Na’Vi, 2018 competitions will start with the ESL Genting Minor, which has 400 qualifying points on the line, unlike the 300 points which every other Minor on the circuit has. From Genting, Na’Vi will travel to Poland for the Katowice Major and then to Bucharest for the PGL Major.
The ESL One Katowice Major will take place on February 20-25 at the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland with a total of 16 teams entering the battle for the $1,000,000 prize pool and 1500 TI8 qualifying points. Na’Vi rounded the direct invites list, and the open and closed qualifiers for the event are ready to commence. Open qualifiers will be held this coming weekend, January 6-7 and those interested to sign up can do so HERE. The closed regional qualifiers will take place on January 9-12.
