Optic Gaming edge out VGJ.Storm as Midas Mode NA champions

Optic Gaming were able to narrowly edge out VGJ.Storm in the 3:2 grand finals of Midas Mode for the North American region.

Optic Gaming and The Children's Medical Center Dallas are the ones that came out ahead in the unconventional new tournament by MoonduckTV. With barely any 'moonbucks' to spare, the last game of the series became quite chaotic and a fitting tribute to the entertaining event fans have praised to be in a class of it's own.

Optic Gaming had come into the NA regional playoffs as first in their group, winning all three of their series and only dropping one match to Evil Geniuses. Their efforts were rewarded with a direct seed into the Grand Finals. VGJ.Storm had squeaked by into the playoffs, being on the edge of elimination but saved only by their scrupulous spending and earning of moonbucks, putting them ahead of Immortals . Upsetting Evil Geniuses in a 2:0 sweep they put up quite a fight against Optic Gaming until the very end.

As previously pledged, all of the winnings will be donated to the team's various charity of choice.

Midas Mode Prize Distribution - NA:
1st place: $18,000 - Optic Gaming - Children’s Medical Center Dallas
2nd place $7,500 - VGJ.Storm -  Center for Family Life
3rd place: $4,500 - Evil Geniuses - UCSF Oakland Children's Hospital

The Grand Finals for the EU region are taking place live now between Team Liquid and Na'Vi. OG have already taken up the third place on the podium.
