Newbee outlasted and outlived their opponents to advance to the winner finals against Vici Gaming, guaranteeing another top three finish with at least $30,000 and 45 TI8 qualifying points.

Day 2 of The Perfect World Masters main event continued with the final four teams battling it out in the upper brackets, doing their best to avoid a fall to the lower brackets elimination series. When the dust had settled LFY and Vega Squadron were the first to drop to the unforgiving best-of-one death series tomorrow. Team Kinguin had held on, fighting valiantly, but ultimately fell into the second round of the lower brackets after a 2:0 sweep by Newbee.

Perfect World Masters QuaterFinals:

LFY 1:2 Newbee

LFY came out of the gates swinging in the all Chinese brawl. Taking the slight advantage early on, they continued to run over Newbee through the rest of the game. Du "Monet" Peng carried his team to victory with a flawless performance on Morphling, while Xie "Super" Junhao had a spectacular performance on Death Prophet. The second game was a much closer competition with some shifts in control through the course of the match. Xu "Moogy" Han's brilliant and perfect game on Slark was a highlight as Newbee claimed the victory to tie up the series. The final contest was another even keel start with the game starting to favor LFY by the mid game. Not to be undone, proving their skill and earned fierce reputation, Newbee stayed the course and took the game from under LFY to advance to the semi finals. With their loss, LFY dropped to the lower brackets.

Team Kinguin 2:1 Vega Squadron

The breakout team of the event, Kinguin continued to display their talent and skill as they overpowered Vega Squadron for the first match of the series. The CIS team refused to cower in the shadows and struck back in the second game. A perfect game by Sergey Alexandrovich "G" Bragin on Broodmother on mid, Vega took Kinguin by storm and forced a deciding third game. The last game was fueled with bloodlust, within the first minute there had been five kills that would set the pace for the remainder of the game. A back and forth game with ups and downs gave a thrilling end and victory to Kinguin to continue their impressive journey through the upper brackets.

Perfect World Masters SemiFinals:

Newbee 2:0 Kinguin

Newbee's draft seemed to overpower Kinguin with their fantastic team fight. Newbee seized control of the map and dictated the pace of the game, forcing Kinguin into playing more reactionary and losing their grasp. A slight ray of hope showed up for Kinguin, but they weren't able to hold to or capitalize on it as Newbe easily took the game back and closed out the game for the first win. The second match Newbee needed to take control of the game fairly early to see success and they did so with incredibly coordinated team fights and great rotations. Putting too much pressure on Kinguin, the Polish squad crumbled under Newbee's experience and power. Newbee swept their way through to a clean 2:0 victory.

Tomorrow is elimination day as four teams in the lower brackets will pack their bags early. The day will start with two best-of-one series with compLexity taking on Mineski at 03:00 CET followed by LGD.FY vs Vega Squadron. The second round of lower brackets will be best-of-three as the surviving teams will face off against Team Kinguin and Team Secret respectively.
