The four-way tie between Osiris, eHug, CNB and Liquid in Star Series American Division cannot be broken by the tournament's format and rules. Thus, a tie-breaker will take place to determine the last team to qualify for the regional playoffs.
The American Division of Star Series Season IX has become quite a thriller, as we still do not know the final team to reach the regional playoffs, even after the conclusion of the season. This is due to a four-way tie created by a combination of match results between eHug, Liquid, CNB and Osiris Gaming.
To be more specific, Team eHug dominated their closing matches, taking down Team Dog, dignotoss and Osiris Gaming to grab 9 precious points. CNB were victorious in their battles against Liquid and Dignotoss but failed to beat Team Dog, and they were unable to secure their spot in the regional finals. The tie-breaker could have possibly been solved if Liquid defeated Team Dog or Evil Geniuses, but both teams stood their ground.
As of March 26th, the three teams with a guaranteed spot in the American regional finals are Evil Geniuses, Revenge eSports and Team Dog.
Since the results between the four teams cannot offer any helpful advantage, SLTV decided to set things straight through a series of tie-breaker matches.

The tie breaker matches will take place on March 28th, starting at 17:00 EST / 22:00 CET. It will be a group-stage with a GSL format, with all matches being best-of-one. The winner of the tie-breaker will qualify for the regional playoffs, scheduled to take begin on March 31st.
