Moments after Singaporean player Benedict 'hyhy' Lim announces his return to the pro scene, 2014 proves to be the year of comebacks as former Pinoy Warcraft 3 Dota players are rumored to make the big shift to Dota 2.
In an announcement made by Sendi Mutiara Multimedia Philippines (or most commonly referred to as 'SMM'), it seems as though the Filipino scene will see as much as ten former players make the leap.
According to our sources, famed Filipino team iZone will also be making its Dota 2 debut. The team, who took second place at the SMM Grand National Dota Tournament in 2012, is rumored to be making the switch with four out of five players with their last player either taking a break or retiring. This has not been confirmed.
As the Philippines bolsters the strongest out of the few remaining SEA WC3 Dota communities, this movement into Dota 2 is a huge step in the right direction as more and more players add to the existing professional league, opening up the region to more diverse talents and continued support to make professions in the SEA scene a viable one.
