The summer season of EMS One will commence on the 7th of May after a successful offline event in Katowice. EMS stated that there may be changes to how the American teams are invited and are considering to host Asian qualifiers.
ESL has announced the summer installment of the EMS One Dota 2 event which will begin from the 7th of May.
Similar to their first season, the top eight teams who qualified for EMS One LAN last week will be returning to the summer season as the top eight seeded. They will be joined by 16 others from the A-Series to accummulate points over the course of four cups.
Cup stage
1st: 100 points (+600$)
2nd: 75 points (+200$)
3-4th: 50 points (+100$)
5-8th: 25 points
9-16th: 10 points
17-24th: 5 points
The top 12 teams of the cup stage will move onto the groupstage in which the teams will be separated into groups and play a best-of-three instead of best-of-one like last season.
According to joinDOTA, EMS has decided to change the way the American teams will compete in the tournament. More information will come next week.
"From what we hear, fans of North American Dota 2 should be able to rest peacefully in the knowledge that their favourite teams will receive a clear path to attend the Summer Season LAN Finals", wrote joinDOTA.
Apart from that, there are speculations that EMS will be hosting an Asian qualifier this season.
