Fnatic is the second finalist

Both Russian teams are eliminated and remaining in the competition is the European mix of Fnatic aswell as the Swedish powerhouse with the interesting name NoTidehunter.

Two days ago, at the first match of the tournament, Virtus Pro went up against Fnatic in Cyberarena, Kiev. That time around VP won the set 2-0 and moved on to the winner bracket final, where they lost to NoTidehunter. The two teams once again faced each other tonight in the lower finals, but this time around the results were reversed. Be it due to the good rotations by the supports or the recent mid solo plays by N0tail, Fnatic took this deciding match 2-0.

Tomorrow at 19.00 CET is the time for the grand final where NoTidehunter already is waiting for their new opponents. As usual with StarLadder the final is best-of-5. Place your bets on the Grand Final here.

Fnatic vs Virtus Pro

Fnatic
       vs
Virtus Pro

Game 1

Fnatic goes into the game determined to set the pace themselves, using the very potent-dual roam combination of Bane / Lina to set up kills, most noticeable in the midlane. Crazy is off to a big disadvantage while N0tail (once again seen in the midlane) the opposite. Fnatic also finding kills on Lifestealer and the supports, forcing VP to try similiar roaming even though their composition is worse for it. VP still manages to pull a couple of decent fights but the advantage was always Fnatic's and Gyro is farming without any real hassle. In the end, it's just a matter of time until Fnatic takes the final fight and the Russians throw in the towel.

What dictates the end of the game is basically the Batrider from VP not being able to be a factor at all in the game, the supports of Fnatic creating room for the core heroes on all lanes.

Game 2

Fnatic picks up the same dual roam combination and have extremely good gank presence with Natures Prophet and Batrider along those. Virtus pro responds with picking up one of the most aggressive picks in Dota, the Night Stalker. They commit two heroes to the midlane but N0tail, being solo there, still manages to win the lane. After Era's Sven farms a straight BKB (and Treads), he becomes a massive damage output in teamfights since VP can not disable him through the spell immunity. A bad fight by Fnatic aswell as the Roshan advantage of Dire keeps VP in the game though. Worth mentioning is N0tails Batrider creating openings in a lot of situations, always capitalizing on opponents being slightly off position.

A moment worth mentioning is when Virtus Pro are going for Roshan, Trixi takes down the tier 3 tower top and proceeds to attack the barracks. Smile disables him while Airman teleports in from the Rosh pit, launching his spells at the disabled Prophet. N0tail however, with his Boots of Travel, teleports in to help his ally and forces Trixi out of the Call Down. N0tail saves his team mate but pays with his own life for it. However, due to the fact that VP abandoned the Roshan for this, Era and the boys sneaks into the pit and finishes off the remaining life of Roshan and seizes the Aegis. VP realizes they need to act drastically to win the game and Airman buys a Rapier even without the intended Aegis to safeguard it. It backfires as Fnatic snipes down cRazy instantly in the next fight while, kills KSi and disables Airman. By the time the hex duration is out, he is down to about 30% hp, quickly dies to Sven and drops the Rapier. VP admits to being defeated and Fnatic moves on to the Grand Final.
