Valve continues to cultivate relationships with partners when it comes to marketing Dota 2 in Asia. Roughly three weeks after announcing 'Perfect World' as official publisher in China, additional bridges from Seattle to Japan and South Korea are about to get built.
Nexon Co. Ltd. was founded in Seoul 1994 and released titles such as Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds, Dark Ages: Online Roleplaying, QuizQuiz, KartRider, Shattered Galaxy and the popular MapleStory.
With the announcement of the partnership, more and more Asian gamers will be made aware of Dota 2: "We are very excited about working with Valve to publish Dota 2 and build on the worldwide momentum of the highly successful franchise. ..", NEXON Co. CEO Min Seo said.
"Nexon, a company with whom we have a long and strong relationship, was clearly the right choice as a publisher to successfully deliver Dota 2 into the Korean and Japanese market. ..." President of Valve Corporation, Gabe Newell added.
It remains to be seen wether Dota 2 will evolve to a recognized alternative to League of Legends, one of the most popular games in the region.
