The North Americans prevail in this weeks THOR Open qualifier and are now eligible to participate in Stockholm. They are the third team to qualify, following We Haz Asian and No Tidehunter. Five qualifiers remain to be played out and are open for everyone.
Being from North America mainly, Root Gaming does not have the means to send his team to the event yet. They will be starting a fundraiser, so if you are rooting for Root Gaming, check out their webpage for further updates.
The THOR Open Finals will be held in the Kista Expo Center in Stockholm at December 8-9, and will offer a prize pool of 600,000 SEK (~$87,000) for all gaming titles. The Dota 2 tournament's prize pool is 130 000 SEK (~ $19,700).
The qualifiers are played out over two days, in which all games up to the semi finals are best-of-ones. The semi finals and finals are best-of-threes.
