Today, the Collegiate Starleague (CSL) announced that they will be awarding 2 scholarships of $1,000 to college students who are leaders in the gaming world.
CSL Head Administrator Duran "Xeris" Parsi will be funding the two scholarships out of his own pocket. Named the Duran Parsi Excellence in eSports Award, two continuing undergraduate students will be awarded $1,000 towards their college tuition.
To qualify for the award, interested students must submit a video application in which they are able to demonstrate their academic strength with a 3.5 GPA and their leadership in the gaming world by discussing and responding to various questions posed by the CSL.
The scholarship will last throughout the winner's college undergraduate life. Deadline for the application will be May 20, interviews will occur May 21 through May 27, and the winners will be announced at the CSL Grand Finals at UCF on June 3.
