Invited to "The International" are 16 selected teams from all around the world. Certainly the best paid tournament to ever grace the scene will however only make it's winner richer. The exorbitant amount of one million US Dollars will go to the champion alone and marks 'the' exclamation point of the gaming exhibition. Participating teams have to pass a groupstage, before entering a double elimination playoff bracket to determine the best of the game.

This press release officially confirms the rumors of a DOTA 2 tournament, played by the best of the craft and will give the gaming community "their first look at the new game", as stated by Gabe Newell, president and founder of Valve.
