The final two players have been announced to compete in the StarCraft Invitational Tournament. The wait is over, and the #1 seed goes to NaDa while the 8th and final seed goes to the ex-progamer Legionnaire.
Invited to BlizzCon
#1 NaDa
#2 Reach
#3 Yellow
#4 Nal_Ra
#5 Mondragon
#6 Assem
#7 Testie
#8 Legionnaire |
Before these final two were announced, all the tournament seemed to be lacking was a terran and a random. Obviously, the #1 seed would be going to a terran from South Korea. Much speculaton began whether it would be
Boxer,
NaDa,
XellOs, or
iloveoov. It has no been revealed
NaDa was the player chosen. He is seen as one of the best players in the world with many achievements in the professional gaming scene. Even though, he hasn't had any major achievements lately that doesn't mean that he's still not one of the best.
There was more speculation about the #8 seed then just about any other in the tournament. Apparently, there was an announcment at the »
Fighter Forum stating that the spot had been given to
Nal_Rock. This seems a bit odd to some because of the fact that this player hasn't really achieved much other than a decent placing at the WCG Korea Finals. If they were to keep the races even the final seed would need to be filled by a random user. Other than
Testie, there are only a small amount of random users that can compete at a high level so the well-known player
Eriador was seen as a potential option by many. It was quite a surprising to see
Legionnaire named after having recently retired from professional gaming. With his addition to the list competitors it would leave three
Protoss's, two
Terran's, two
Zerg's, and one
Random.
Now for the Tournament to Begin!
