HoT wins ClanBase EuroCup XI

At the World Trade Center in Almere, Netherlands the ClanBase EuroCup XI was settled. After several months of group stages, online playoffs the time for the LAN finals had finally come. Yesterday the eleventh edition of the EuroCup started, and an hour ago the SK-Gaming player SK.HoT took home the first prize - 1,500€!

» ClanBase EuroCup XI Finals, an event that were to take place this weekend, starting yesterday (Friday) the 16th of September. Eight of the WarCraft 3 elites had qualified for the tournament via an online tournament, both group stage and a playoff.

At the World Trade Center in Almere, Netherlands, the tournament took place. After two hours of delay, the WarCraft 3 tournament finally commenced at 12:15 yesterday. It started out bad for the pre-interviewed 4K^FuRy (interview » here) as he first lost to mTw-WinneR 0-2 and was pushed down straight to the Loser Bracket. He started out well by eliminating SK.Insomnia 2-0, but against SK.HoT it ended in a 0-2 loss for the Swede.

After Round 1, Paladyn and Insomnia got eliminated, however they did not go empty-handed - 300€ to both of them. For the second round, some very interesting match-ups were on the way. ToD up against his clanmate and friend Grubby, a match where the Frenchman managed to take down the Orc 2-1. HoT is pushed down to Loser Bracket by WinneR. And in the following Loser Bracket, Grubby and HoT fights on, and beats their opponents waiting for them.

ToD keeps on winning, this time over WinneR with 2-1, giving him a seat in the Grand Finals, and granted at least 1,000€. In the Loser Bracket Grubby was defeated by SK.HoT, which meant that HoT was ready for the Loser Bracket finals, where he went up against WinneR.

SK.HoT takes down WinneR, and will go up against ToD in the Grand Final.

The Grand Final consisted of a best of three best of three, and SK.HoT started by taking the first best of three with 2-1. If the 4K^ToD would have a shot, he would have to win the last two rounds, but in the second round SK.HoT took home the victory by winning 2-0.

An impressive comeback by HoT

An impressive comeback for Mykhaylo Novopashyn, more known as SK.HoT after losing to WinneR in the WB Semi-Finals. This win gives him a total of 1,500€ and a nice merit to add in his resumé. The tournament worked out alright, apart from some slight delay and some WTV problems. GosuGamers hopes to have a word with SK.HoT about the victory as soon as possible.
